ScoutGuard SG550V
The latest in our Motion Cameras.
The ScoutGuard SG550V digital scouting cameras are automatic working surveillance devices. The cameras can be triggered by any movement (of humans and animals) in a certain region of interest monitored by a highly sensitive Passive Infra-Red (PIR) motion sensor, even in total darkness thanks to the build-in infrared LED flash. High quality pictures (up to 5 mega pixels) or video clips are taken consequently upon the triggering and recorded onto an SD card (2 Gb max size). They are a very small single unit powered by AA batteries for up to months at a time.

These cameras were originally made for wildlife monitoring but have been adopted as a very useful set of eyes on farm to keep watch over gates, fuel supplies, and waters etc. Just put them out and come back weeks later to see what has been happening. Due to their small size and camouflage housing they are easy to conceal.
Their wildlife monitoring ability is exceptional. Recently these cameras were chosen by an Australian state government over the many that were trialed to capture images of foxes that had invaded the state. They found they worked better than other brands of cameras worth more than double the price.
For the trapper these cameras can provide valuable information in how animals are approaching your traps. My first video was of a dog that walked into the set with his nose to the ground. When setting the trap I was looking for a stick to use and I walked around a little trying to find one. In the video the dog traces over my steps exactly then leaves the area. As a result of this and other videos I have captured since I have modified my trapping techniques and am now getting better results.

Here is what people are saying about these new Scout Guard 550 cameras:
"We operate an earthmoving and quarrying business in northern nsw, with machinery including excavators, bulldozers, tippers, graders, loaders etc. After having 500 litres of diesel stolen out of one of these machines, we installed a motion camera. We have found the camera to be a huge success. We were able to have clear identification of some unauthorised intruders on to our work site. The length of the battery life is unbelieveable. We would highly recommend this product to anyone wanting added security on their work sites."

"Just wanted you to know how impressed I am with the HCO Scoutguard motion activated camera’s we got from you. I have used and bought other similar types but different brand cameras recently so I'm in a good position to make a comparison.
The advantages of the Scoutguard camera and dealing with your company are:
- I waited a month for the other brand and two days for your Scoutguards after ordering;
- Scoutguard is half the size, its more solid, more rugged and camouflaged;
- for the same price you provide all the security equipment which is also camouflaged; and
- battery life is at 80 days+ compared to 30.
I've attached one recent photo that will probably make some ears prick! Thanks again."

"I am writing to say what a wonderful piece of equipment the Outdoor camera is. We had a break in recently and searched the market for a security camera which would be suitable for our conditions, rural scrub with no mains electricity, generator or batteries of any kind whilst we were not there. I came across your site and was so impressed with the length of time the camera could operate on battery power, the zooming capabilities without fuzzing the important details, night time vision, the quantity of photos it could hold and its claim it was easy to use.
I have since installed the camera and it has certainly lived up to the advertisements on the net, the photos are excellent quality and I have been able to capture rego plates on angles of all kinds. I can now rest easy knowing if there is a break in at out rural property again we will have the evidence that is needed to catch these people.
I am raving to all my neighbours and friends in the same position as us how great your camera is and passing on details to them so they too can have piece of mind."
Thank you once again

"We have found these cameras very useful here at Waverley near Scone NSW. We first purchased these units to keep an eye on our fuel bowsers and workshop area. Recently we started using them to spy on the dingos and wild dogs in our area. We have had great success in identifying dog movement which gave us the ability to successfully trap 7 dogs. The Scoutguard infrared camera is a very useful and easy to operate bit of gear. We now run 6 SG550V cameras on our property."

"I’ve been using different types of IR Hunting cameras now for over 10 years dealing in both Wildlife related works and Feral animal Management. I’ve used other well known brand Hunting Cams and have personally seen the Scoutguard over the last 2 years outshine these other cameras in many ways where they suffered with wiring problems to moisture problems, hard to program and at time cantankerous. Scoutguard are easy to operate half the price excellent picture speed and quality and a lot smaller for those discreet locations. I run with 12 and am very happy with their product."
Michael Dickinson, Australian Wildlife & Feral Management
“In April this year (2010) I purchased a Scout Guard 550V camera from you and I have been very pleased with its performance, especially in wet conditions. I would like to purchase two more please.”
Reg McGufficke, Cooma NSW
“The camera is fantastic. I had some trouble at first using the remote to view photos on site but the photos are great. We have even used it for videoing and have been happy with the result. For the price, it’s an excellent little camera. Thanks.”
